The factory continues its unique success story ever since the foundation stone was laid in February 2000. The background to this story is the complete production of the new generation of the Panamera sports saloon. It celebrated its world premiere in Berlin two days ago.

Now more than ever, the new Panamera is a product of Saxony. The latest generation of the sporty saloon will be manufactured in its entirety at the Leipzig factory. Porsche has invested €500 million to make this possible, impressively demonstrating our commitment to Leipzig. Over the past two years, a completely new body shop has been created for production of the Panamera.

High-volume production with the same degree of customisation as individual handcrafting methods: Porsche Leipzig sets standards in production. Thanks to the Porsche production and logistics system, all the Cayenne, Panamera and Macan models can run together on one assembly line.

Production of the new generation of the Panamera will create 600 additional jobs in Leipzig. By August 2016, the workforce will exceed 4,000 employees for the first time. Currently 3,865 people are employed at Porsche Leipzig.
