Porsche Leipzig is not only a business, but an automotive experience with a racing circuit and off-road course. More than 47,000 people visited the Customer Centre last year – to collect a vehicle, as a participant in adventure programmes, or as part of events. The 5,200 sq. m Customer Centre is visible from far away.
The ‘diamond’, a 32 m high tower in the form of a gemstone standing on its tip with a diameter of 58 m, is the architectural signature of the Porsche factory in Leipzig.
Breathtaking view of the factory
The Customer Centre extends over five levels. The ground floor includes reception, a Porsche shop and a Motorsport Lounge with direct access to the circuit track. On the first floor, there is a glass Porsche Lounge, an exclusive area for those picking up their cars directly from the factory. One level above, meeting rooms cater for meetings and conferences for up to 80 people. The track control centre is also here. On the third floor, organisers are able to receive up to several hundred guests for meetings, conferences or gala events in the 1,360 sq. m Porsche Auditorium. The restaurant also guarantees top-notch Porsche cuisine. Panoramic windows over the entire floor provide a stunning view of the factory and the circuit track. On the fourth floor, there is a museum with historic Porsche cars.
Eleven bends on one circuit
The FIA-certified Porsche circuit track is a highlight of the unique automotive experience offered by Porsche in Leipzig. It is also the perfect place to experience the sporting characteristics of Porsche vehicles on a 3.7 km track. The track is modelled on eleven famous sections from racetracks around the world, conceived by Hermann Tilke, a leading racetrack designer. The ‘Corkscrew’, a legendary section of Laguna Seca in the USA, the famous Monza ‘Parabolica’ from Italy or the ‘Suzuka S’ from Japan – at Porsche Leipzig, they can all be experienced in one circuit! And the fun doesn’t stop there. The extension of the dynamic circuit has created a new highlight in the exact replica of the ‘Karussell’, the famous banked curve on the Nordschleife of the Nürburgring.
Dynamic circuit with handling course
Since 2014, the circuit track has included a track section similar to a county road: the dynamic circuit. Different driving situations can be simulated here, replicating challenges faced by drivers in everyday life. For example, vehicle handling under different speeds and conditions as well as full braking can be taught and practised on the 150 m dynamic surface or the wet track.
Challenges beyond the asphalt
Porsche vehicles don’t have to be restricted to the circuit to be tested to their limits. Porsche Leipzig also offers the opportunity to get to know the Cayenne or the Macan models on the obstacle course. The 6 km course covers an area of over 100 hectares and includes 15 off-road modules. These include, among other challenges, a 100 m water ditch and an extreme ramp with a gradient of 80 per cent. Just away from the off-road track, cattle and wild horses have found a new home here and keep overgrowth in the area in check in a natural way.
Both routes – on-road and off-road – are used for driving events during functions and adventure programmes. There are many possibilities here – for example, laps alongside motor sport professionals or at the wheel of a Porsche. The Porsche Sport Driving School also offers various types of training on the Leipzig tracks.
Dynamic vehicle handover for those picking up their cars directly from the factory
2,100 customers picked up their new cars in Leipzig in 2015. To round off the thrill of collecting your vehicle, Porsche offers a very special pickup experience – in addition to a factory tour and an exclusive meal in our restaurant comes a particularly dynamic kind of vehicle handover: In an almost identical vehicle, an instructor demonstrates all the functions of the new Porsche on the track, and, in the case of the Macan and Cayenne, also on the off-road obstacle course.
Porsche Leipzig event platform
The Customer Centre facilities can be hired for events of various types and sizes. 32,000 guests visited Porsche Leipzig in 2015, taking part in 530 events. The unique range of supporting programmes on our two tracks is a special highlight of meetings, conferences or gala events at the customer centre.
Programmes for every taste
Even if they are not picking up their vehicle, visitors can have memorable experiences in the Porsche factory: with our ‘Gourmet’, ‘Co-Pilot’, ‘Pilot’ and ‘Discover’ programmes. More than 10,000 visitors took the opportunity to get to know Porsche Leipzig in 2015. A factory tour always forms part of the programme. The ‘Gourmet’ programme provides guests with insights into the world of Porsche Leipzig with gastronomic highlights included. Participants experience an exhilarating ride in a Porsche at the side of a motor sport professional in the ‘Co-Pilot’ programme. The ‘Pilot’ adventure programme puts visitors behind the wheel: either on-road on the FIA-certified racing circuit, or off-road on the obstacle course. The particularly individual ‘Discover’ programme combines an extensive driving event with a factory tour as well as an exclusive meal in the Customer Centre restaurant. Experience, learn and have extreme amounts of fun – Porsche Leipzig is more than just a factory.
